The widow comes down and, with the bicycling of the hind pair of legs, throws gummy silk onto this new pray (177) Here Graces uses metaphor, imagery, and personification. He uses imagery and personification so that the audience can naming how this widow comes down from the web with a bicycling hind pair of legs, like If Is a person riding a bicycle coming down from a mountain. This helps the author further his purpose, but also helps the audience understand, comprehend and visualized the point of the author. I have come across such black pearls wrapped in silk and, upon peeling off the skin, seen the pearls unfold their legs and rush away.
